Road Work

Harrisburg – June 22, 2018 – Sen. John Sabatina (D-Philadelphia) is alerting motorists to local lane and travel restrictions due to roadwork beginning June 25.

“Various roadwork projects will be occurring in Philadelphia next week,” said Sabatina. “Motorists should allow for extra travel time and proceed with caution through work zones while these improvements are taking place.”

Sabatina serves as the Democratic chair of the Senate Transportation Committee and is a member of the state Transportation Commission.

Roadwork in the area is scheduled from June 25 to June 28. Projects include bridge inspections, road repair, and resurfacing.

The week’s work schedule is:

  • Monday, June 25, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM – right lane closure on the ramp from Aramingo Avenue to I-95 South;
  • Monday, June 25, 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM – right lane closure on northbound I-95 between the Island Avenue and Broad Street/Pattison Avenue interchanges;

Per PennDOT, all scheduled work is weather dependent.

The senator warns of slowdowns caused by the scheduled lane and travel restrictions. He says that 511PA is a great tool to help motorists prepare for upcoming traffic conditions and roadwork.

“Keeping yourself, other motorists, and roadworkers safe should be a priority for all those traveling,” Sabatina said. “511PA provides up-to-date traffic information that can help prepare for travel and keep those on the road safe.”
