Harrisburg – July 19, 2018 – Sen. John Sabatina (D-Philadelphia) in encouraging motorists to prepare for scheduled roadwork on Interstate 95 beginning next week.
“Motorists should travel with caution on Interstate 95 as lane closures will be in place during the scheduled roadwork,” Sabatina said. “The scheduled work will repair and resurface sections of north and southbound I-95.”
Sabatina, who serves as the Democratic chair of the Senate Transportation Committee and is a member of the state Transportation Commission, said the roadwork will primarily occur as nighttime operations (7:00 PM to 5:00 AM). The work will begin on Monday, July 23 and continue to Friday, July 27.
“Road improvement projects, such as those scheduled for next week, are essential to maintaining the integrity of heavily traveled roads in our area,” Sabatina said.
Next week’s project to repair and resurface 7 miles of I-95 will focus on areas south of the Cottman Avenue Interchange and south of the I-676 Interchange.
