Marsy's LawMarsy’s Law

Pennsylvania is one of only nine states that does not protect crime victim’s rights in its constitution. As a former assistant district attorney in Philadelphia I know full well how important it is to keep victims informed as the criminal justice process plays out.

That’s why I’m proud to sponsor Marsy’s Law in the Pennsylvania Senate. Stay tuned as we are trying to get this important bipartisan issue on the ballot for voters to decide.

Property Tax Rebate

Property TaxWe can help seniors (65 and older) get a rebate on property tax based on income. The rebate is also available to disabled folks over age 18 as well as widows & widowers over age 50. While the maximum rebate is listed at $650, Philadelphians can get 50 percent more due to living in a high property tax area. That means a potential rebate of $975.

The upper threshold for annual income is $35,000 for the entire household. However the state does not count half of your Social Security income. Unfortunately not everyone takes advantage of this rebate. Last year a little more than 66,000 people in Philadelphia took advantage of the rebate. Many more were eligible.
